This type leads the new direction of large piston manufacturers in Europe, Japan, and the United States. It has its broad market prospect. A test was performed by a major foreign engine manufacturer to demonstrate the difference in the cooling effects between the Welded-Loop-Type Internal Cooling Passage and the Salt-Core-Type Internal Cooling Passage. It indicated that the former type offered a better cooling result, a lower temperature at the first ring groove, 215℃ from 278℃, dropped as much as 60℃; the temperature at throat of the combustion chamber also reduced near 40℃.
